About

This site is here to provide information about music (including history, theory, and lessons), musical instruments, and helpful hints. We also provide information for all lovers of music.

As for me, I am 70 years old and have been in music since the age of 8.  I first began piano lessons in 1960.  While I never became a piano virtuoso, this began my love of music.  When I entered the 7th grade, I began playing the trumpet and in the 10th grade switched to French Horn.  The French Horn followed me to college; however, college was interrupted by a brief time in the Marine Corps.  It wasn’t until 2010 after retiring that I was able to return to college and complete my music degree.

Through the years I played the horn in my church orchestra and upon changing to another church, played the bass.  I also sang solos in church and for about 15 years was an Elvis impersonator.  Yes, an Elvis impersonator.  Those were some of the best years in music for me.  I also had gigs at nursing homes just being myself singing various genres of music.  From 1998 – 2010, I was a singer with the Memphis Symphony Chorus.  I opened a music academy in 2013 and it is still open teaching students how to play a variety of instruments.
